Creatively letting go

With all that’s going on in our environment right now (and the added stress from the past year), it's easy to feel overwhelmed, angry, unmotivated, distracted, or just plain stuck. What do you do with all those emotions, thoughts, and "shoulds" taking up space in your mind?

I bet many of you think I'm going say you should meditate, right? Haha...nope! I don't know about you, but I don't have the concentration level for meditation when I'm stuck in a house full of people (hello, COVID).

And yet, sometimes I just need to get that extra crap out your head so I can actually sleep. Oh, and also give myself some space for what really matters to me. So I turned to what I do best, which is combining my creativity and intuition to take ideas and make them my own, to come up with alternate ways to create space in my brain from all the swirling thoughts.

Need a quick way to release negative energy and aid in transformation?

Throughout each month I tuck away little pieces of paper that carry thoughts, feelings, worries I no longer want to carry into my Zero F*cks Jar. Before each new moon I then take out the accumulated slips of paper and I burn those suckers. Gah, what a kick-@ss feeling it is to see those old worries go up in smoke.

So. Much. Space. Cleared.

Seriously, the ritual act of burning each slip of paper clears my mind and always room for more joy.

What rituals do you have to help clear out the unnecessary mind junk? I'd love to hear what’s working for you!
